SUP Skills Weekend

Ashley Flowers Yoga & Maine Standup Paddling are teaming up to offer a 2-day SUP Skills Weekend in beautiful Belgrade Lakes, Maine just 1hr 20mins from Portland. This skills weekend is the best way to greatly increase your standup paddling skills in a short amount of time.
We’ll give you the professional instruction and experienced coaching needed to up your skills tremendously. You’ll spend time with us learning everything from body positioning to equipment design to advanced stroke mechanics. Learn to read wind & water, practice incident management, learn to paddle farther & faster using less energy.
Come explore Belgrade Lakes with us, learn skills, have fun, do some yoga and relax. If you like standup paddling and are ready to greatly expand your skills, safety & experience, this is for you.
Limited to 8 students
PRE-REQUISITES: some standup paddling experience – at least 6 times. Good physical condition.
$100 2-day SUP Equipment Rental
– SUP, paddle, leash, pfd (all available for rent if needed)
– proper clothing – wetsuit, thermal wear, windproof layer, sandals/water shoes, hat

Day Zero: We’ll run an optional yoga session in Belgrade Lakes Friday night around 6pm. Followed by dinner & drinks in the village.
Day One: We’ll meet in the Belgrade Lakes Village at 8am. After a meet & greet, we’ll warm up with a quick stretch by the lake, then dive into stroke mechanics covering all Level One & Level Two strokes while exploring the lake and stopping for lunch on our day long journey. In the late afternoon we’ll conclude our day on the water, and will offer an optional SUP yoga session. For happy hour, we’ll be sitting lakeside at the Village Inn. Dinner is on your own and there are some great options in Belgrade Lakes including the Village Inn.
Day Two: After breakfast and an optional warm up yoga session, we’ll dive back into skill development. Blade control, balance, advanced maneuvers, fun! We’ll spend another day on the water on a different lake, exploring the whole way. By 4pm we’ll return to Belgrade Lakes to wrap up.
