I spent last weekend paddling around Peter’s Pond in Sandwich, MA with the crew from RideAway Kayak & SUP.  This was the first course I’ve ever delivered when every candidate passed.  I was highly impressed by the professionalism and commitment from these paddlers.  Each of them could quickly take feedback and make changes for big improvements.  If you’re in Cape Cod looking for SUP rentals or instruction, RideAway is the place to call.

I’ve now been delivering American Canoe Association SUP Instructor Certification Workshops about 4 years and I continue to learn on each one.  Every time I begin a new course I re-write the outline, try new sessions, change things up and take notes on what works and what doesn’t.  As the sport evolves, so does this course.  I’m beginning to see way fewer candidates with kayaking experience and more that have taken on standup paddling as their very first water sport.  Lots of new business owners coming through the program and lots of people taking the course purely for the training aspect.  It’s awesome to so many people stepping up their skills becoming safer & stronger paddlers.
